Back in Redmond headquarters, Microsoft’s Jeff Henshaw told us that the
Xbox 360 will work with rival companies’ products and then at E3 2005,
J. Allard mentioned specifically the Xbox 360 ability to connect with
the PlayStation Portable and even Apple’s iPod.
Well, it seems that Microsoft has already developed the technology to
allow its Xbox 360 to connect with rival firms’ products as this recent
post from an anonymous developer shows. At PSP Vault, a game developer
with the simple name of Newbie has posted the first screenshots that
show the Sony PSP connected to the Xbox 360:
"I finally got an xbox360 dev kit today, and was able to see how well
it interacts with the PSP. It worked great - I was able to listen to
mp3s right off the PSP through the Xbox360 Music Player, and view
images from the PSP at full screen."
The Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system, which is now being
promoted by Microsoft as "an integrated music, picture, games, and
movie center", is equipped with USB 2.0 ports that allows it to connect
with portable music players, digital cameras and any other device with
a USB interface such as the PSP. |

Now the kid is
begging to get the thread deleted (maybe he found out what an NDA is),
but the cat is already out of the bag. Apparently his step dad just
started working for Microsoft under the title of Regulatory Compliance
Manager, and is currently hardware testing the Xbox 360. The wires
coming out the top are for such testing. The hardware is apparently
complete, and although there were no 360 games to test, he gave Halo 2
a spin in backwards compatibility. He is claiming the power supply is
external, and is enourmous. |

Xbox365.com is reporting that they have obtained the launch date for
the Xbox 360 which was taken from a Microsoft Partner Site. The
announcement of the date is said to have been an accident on
Microsoft's side but if the information is true the Xbox 360 could be
launching on November 4. Below is the announcement that they found:
The Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system
places you at the center of the experience. Available this holiday
season, Xbox 360 ignites a new era of digital entertainment that is
always connected, always personalized, and always in high definition.
Launch Date: November 4 2005
No word yet from Microsoft to help dispel this possible slip up, but
we'll have an update as soon as a response becomes available. |

Latest survey shows that Microsoft's efforts in Japan still aren't having much effect
A new survey by Japanese news agency C-News suggests that Japanese
consumers are still not interested in the Xbox 360, with only two per
cent of respondents choosing Microsoft's new console as their favoured
next-gen system.
1,000 Japanese consumers aged between 10 and 59 were questioned for the
survey, with 60 per cent choosing the PlayStation 3 as the next-gen
system they're most interested in, followed by the Nintendo Revolution
on 8 per cent and the X360 on just 2 per cent.
